Since 1986, the Kölner Philharmonie has become an integral part of music life. One reason for this is the variety of its programme containing great works from the symphonic repertoire, jazz sessions, folk and pop events and concerts that are dedicated to world debuts, premières and the lesser known works. Other reasons are the excellent acoustics and the distinctive atmosphere of the fantastic, beautiful hall, which is modelled on an amphitheatre.
