Andris Poga
Chief Conductor of the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra

Andris Poga is Chief Conductor of the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. From 2013 to 2021, he was music director of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. Highlights of recent years include concerts with leading orchestras from Germany, France, Italy, Japan and Scandinavia.
The 2025/26 season includes subscription concert series with the SSO and LNSO, a return to the WDR Symphony Orchestra including a tour to South Korea, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Bergen Philharmonic and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. Andris Poga will make his debuts with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Belgian National Orchestra, the Prague Radio Symphony and other renowned orchestras.
In 2010, Andris Poga won first prize at the Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition, bringing him international recognition. He became assistant to Paavo Järvi at the Orchestre de Paris and also served as associate conductor with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
