Carlos Agreda

Recently appointed Dudamel Fellow for the 23/24 season by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Colombian conductor Carlos Ágreda has started to develop a promising international career in the United States, Europe and Latin America, building a reputation for his dynamic leadership on and off the podium and versatility in repertoire.
Also a finalist of the first edition of the International Conducting Competition Rotterdam, Carlos first came to international attention when he reached the third round in the Cadaqués International Conducting Competition at the age of 22, the youngest of the seven short-listed candidates. Carlos was formerly Conducting Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music under the mentorship of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and recently the Music Director of the Empire State Youth Orchestra in New York, USA.
Carlos Ágreda’s collaborations as guest conductor include performances with the leading orchestras in his home country. Other highlights include the Opera Philadelphia, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, Curtis Opera Theater, and concerts at the Rheingau Musik Festival with the Filarmónica Joven de Colombia to enthusiastic acclaim. Carlos has worked closely with world-renowned conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Juanjo Mena, Andrés Orozco Estrada, Michael Tilson Thomas, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Sir Andrew Davis.
