Anu Tali

Chief Conductor of the Nordic Symphony Orchestra

Anu Tali is considered one of the most fascinating and versatile conductors worldwide. As former music director of the Sarasota Orchestra in Florida, Anu Tali regularly works with orchestras such as the New Japan Philharmonic, Tokyo Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, Houston Symphony Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Together with her twin sister Kadri, Anu Tali founded the Nordic Symphony Orchestra in 1997 with the aim of deepening cultural exchange between Estonia and Finland through music and bringing together musicians from all over the world.

In 2003, Anu Tali received the ECHO Klassik ‘Young Artist of the Year’ award for her debut recording ‘Swan Flight’ (Finlandia/Warner Classics).

Anu Tali began her musical career as a pianist. She graduated from the conservatory in Tallinn before training as a conductor at the Estonian Academy of Music. From 1998 to 2000, she continued her studies at the St Petersburg Conservatory.
