Bobin Kim
Chorus assistant and chorus coach, Semperoper Dresden

Bobin Kim has been appointed Deputy Chorus Director at the Bavarian State Opera with effect from the 2026/27 season. Since the 2024/25 season, she has been working as Assistant Chorus Director and Chorus Coach at the Semperoper Dresden.
In 2023, she was awarded first prize at the 2nd International Choral Conducting Competition in Marktoberdorf. Since 2022, she has been a scholarship holder of the German Music Council’s ‘Forum Dirigieren’ support programme and was accepted into the concert support scheme in 2024. In October 2026, she was a finalist in the German Prize for Choral Conducting with the RIAS Chamber Choir.
During the 2023/24 season, she assisted the chorus master of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Jeremy Bines, on the productions of *Nixon in China*, *Anna Bolena* and the *St Matthew Passion*. She has also worked with the SWR Vocal Ensemble, the WDR Radio Choir, Chorwerk Ruhr, the Frankfurt Opera Choir, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Rheinische Philharmonie State Orchestra and the Giessen Philharmonic Orchestra.
She completed her Bachelor’s degree in choral conducting at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in choral conducting with distinction at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, followed by a concert examination in choral conducting at the Saar University of Music. At the same time, she studied orchestral conducting at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts..
