Hermes Helfricht

Hermes Helfricht worked with a variety of European orchestras covering repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music. He has been invited to conduct orchestras such as the Bruckner Orchester Linz, Bremer Philharmoniker, Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra (Estonia) and the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen.

After engagements as Assistant Conductor of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE) and as Kapellmeister at Theatre Erfurt and Theatre St. Gallen, Helfricht is now 1st Kapellmeister at Bonn Opera House. He has led productions such as Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, Fidelio, Lohengrin, Don Carlo, Eugene Onegin, Carmen, Hänsel und Gretel, La Boheme, Tosca, Madame Butterfly und The Makropulos Affair. Three of his productions from last year, Li-Tai-Pe, Asrael and Ein Feldlager in Schlesien, received an OPER!AWARD in the category “Best Rediscovery” in 2023.
