Anna Castro Grinstein
*1990, Argentina/Spain
Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Anna Castro Grinstein was conducting fellow at the 2023 Aix-en-Provence opera festival, conducting the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra in concert. She is currently a Britten Pears Young Artist working with a focus on contemporary opera in collaboration with the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Program. In 2022 she was assistant conductor for the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina and was sponsored by Barbara Hannigan's initiative Momentum, our future now. From 2015 to 2020 she was artistic director of Colectivo Sonoro Ensemble.
After her bachelor studies in Argentina she completed a Master Degree in conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with prof. Scott Sandmeier. She was semifinalist at the Louis-Spohr-Stiftung competition, qualified for the final rounds at the conducting competition Campus Dirigieren I and has been awarded a full scholarship by the Goethe Institut to attend the prestigious Darmstädter Ferienkurse.
