The German Conducting Award equally takes the genres of opera and concert into consideration in the repertoire and thus demands cross-genre skills from the candidates.

W. A. Mozart: Così fan tutte, sextet "Alla bella Despinetta"

W. A. Mozart: Don Giovanni – 2nd Act, No. 19 sextet

Georges Bizet: Carmen, "Smuggler's Quintet"

Gioachino Rossini: The Barber of Seville - 2nd Act, Scene 11, No. 13 quintet "Don Basilio!... Buona Sera, Mio Signore"

Alban Berg: Lulu – "Lied der Lulu" (first line: "wenn sich die Menschen um meinetwillen umgebracht haben")

The conductor will have to prepare three œuvres. The choice must contain an œuvre by Mozart. However, the conductor may not choose two œuvres by Mozart.

Joseph Haydn: Symphony No. 92 G major Hob.I:92
or
W. A. Mozart: Symphony No. 41 C major KV 551 "Jupiter-Symphony"

or
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: Symphony No. 3 a minor op. 56 

Group of œuvres No. 3:
Robert Schumann: Symphony No. 2 C major op. 61
or
Johannes Brahms: Symphony No. 3 F major op. 90

One œuvre must be prepared from each group of œuvres.
