The German Conducting Award equally takes the genres of opera and concert into consideration in the repertoire and thus demands cross-genre skills from the candidates.

Gioachino Rossini: The Barber of Seville - 2nd Act, Scene 11, No. 13 quintet "Don Basilio!... Buona Sera, Mio Signore"
Alban Berg: Lulu – "Lied der Lulu" (first line: "wenn sich die Menschen um meinetwillen umgebracht haben")
The conductor will have to prepare three œuvres. The choice must contain an œuvre by Mozart. However, the conductor may not choose two œuvres by Mozart.
