Bobin Kim

Chorus assistant and chorus coach, Semperoper Dresden

Bobin Kim has been employed as a chorus assistant and chorus coach at the Semperoper Dresden since the 2024/25 season. In the 2025/26 season, she will take charge of the chorus rehearsals for *Die Entführung aus dem Serail* and *Don Giovanni* there, followed by *Die tote Stadt* and *Le nozze di Figaro* in the 2026/27 season.

In 2023, she was awarded first prize at the 2nd International Conducting Competition for Choral Conductors in Marktoberdorf. Since 2022, she has been a scholarship holder of the ‘Forum Dirigieren’ support programme run by the German Music Council and was accepted into the concert support scheme in 2024.
During the 2023/24 season, she assisted the chorus master of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Jeremy Bines, on the productions of *Nixon in China*, *Anna Bolena* and the *St Matthew Passion*. She has also worked with renowned choirs such as the SWR Vocal Ensemble, the BR Radio Choir, the WDR Radio Choir, the Chorwerk Ruhr and the Frankfurt Opera Choir, as well as with orchestras including the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Rheinische Philharmonie State Orchestra and the Giessen Philharmonic Orchestra.
She completed her Bachelor’s degree in choral conducting at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in choral conducting at the HfMDK Frankfurt with distinction, followed by a concert examination in choral conducting at the HfM Saar. At the same time, she studied orchestral conducting at the HfMDK Frankfurt. She gained significant artistic inspiration from masterclasses with Yuval Weinberg, Klaas Stok, Gary Graden, Georg Grün, Tilman Michael, Florian Helgath, Howard Arman and Nicolas Fink.
